Peugeot T16 Rally Car

Some time ago Kevin Furber decided to buy a T16 Road car (Number 137 out of the original 200 made) and convert it into a rally car. However, the project didn’t prove as easy as expected. It took many months of searching the world for competition components and weeks of work just to figger out the best way forward in developing new parts that could be utilised as part of a reliable rally package.

After almost a year of planning the opportunity arose to purchase a full blown rally car with history that dates back to 1986 with its original driver American John Woodner and the Peugeot Sport UK rally team.

The opportunity to buy the fully rebuilt and immaculate T16 evo 2 came about as top Newzeland rally drive Peter Johnson had spend 4 years restoring the car with NZ preparation ace Rom Macmillan on the spanners. Between them they had not only rebuilt the T16 back to its original glory but in a no expenses spared program had actually developed the car into a reliable car that could be used on modern day 600 mil rallies in the Newzeland TARGA rally championship.

The T16 Evo2 is now run and maintained in the UK and is just about the only car of its type regularly running on display and competition events around the world. The t16 server as a flagship for the 205 Challenge and its new owner and driver Kevin Furber finally realises his dream of driving A Turbo GPB after years of trying to achieve this when he was a works driver for Peugeot UK back in the 90s.
